``Adventist World Radio`` in a sesquihour at 2030 UT, or `AWR 360
Broadcast to Baptism`. Another weekly time for that is Mondays 1100
UT. I watched some eps months ago and found there was precious little
if any info about the frequencies, Kenneth of transmitters allegedly
responsible for converting heathens, or from other Christian subcults?
Fortunately 17-6, labeled 3ABN-PH carries the same programming as
17-1, and it has audio! Unfortunately, they split apart at 2030 UT, so
the AWR show remains speechless on 17-1 only. I watch it anyway, seems
to be about Europe, especially Ukraine, so not likely involving any
SW; even before AWR drastically reduced its SW output. Furthermore, no
closed captioning which could have been a saving grace (Glenn Hauser,

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. As of Jan 10, Optimum cable in Enid and
presumably everywhere blox Nexstar stations, because of failure to
reach agreement on costs. Here that includes our NBC affiliate, KFOR!
(``4``) and all its subchannels, and its full-power substation KAUT
(``43``, RF 19 ATSC 3.0, Cable 2), as well as NewsNation which had
been on cable 85. Optimum already raised prices and now offers less!
Apparently has something to do with MSG and sports rights, about which
we don`t give a damn, and would gladly dispense of ALL sports cable
channels and their costs.

Fortunately, KFOR RF 27 is an OKC station with reliable direct by
antenna reception, even the UHF loop near ground level by a
south-facing window, and certainly via rooftop antenna. Optimum is
trying to drive us to some streaming service which includes Nexstar.

** U S A. 9495: as I notified Jeff White: ``9395 transmitter was
putting out a loud and extremely distorted spur approx. 9495 last
night during SMTV. Never heard anything like that before from WRMI.
Also, the modulation on 9395 itself was somewhat distorted, S9+20/25`` 
{no reply but not heard since}
- First noted at 0711 Jan 10; at 0715 ``global weather``, entirely
musical as must have been a visual display only. Hey, SMTV, this is

** U S A. 9395 // 9455, UT Sun Jan 12 at 0421, WRMI on both with
dramatic narration, weird music, S9+30/40 and S9+40 respectively. 9455
had made fitful attempts to resume long after hurricane damage; we`ll
see if it remain this time. Per XMTR grid, 9395 WRMI-6 is System G
with TOMBS, 9455 WRMI-11 off after System E TOMBS until 0400. System G
itself shows TOMBS on both at 0400-0500 UT, except UT Sunday: 0400
`Rural Routes`, 0430 `Wavescan`. What`s `Rural Routes`?? Nothing about
it on the Programming page. 9455 is off again at 1548, JBA carrier
from CRI Kunming this hour only. WRMI-11 is sked 23-04 UT only, BTW
the skedgrid is now dated at the top ``effective January 11, 2025` --
so it ought to be totally accurate, altho individual Systems still

** U S A. 7570, Jan 13 at 0640, WRMI `Legends` with Ted shilling
something. Very late hour for that? But transmitter grid now shows it
at 05-07 System C on 7570; while System C grid shows 01-04 on 5050,

** U S A. Pre-`AAAWWW` WBCQ chex, UT Sat Jan 11 at 0055 into Georgia
SDR: 3265 & 5130 off. 6160 -69 Hz = 6159.931 music, S9/+15. 7490 -75
Hz = 7489.925, S9+20/30 with FKB. At 0058, 5130 -32 Hz = 5129.968 now
on with IS & ID, S9/+10. At 0100, 6160- starts something else despite
program guide, while 5130- & 7490- combine into `WTO` theme of
`AAAWWW`. Allan`s first voiceover: ``It`s the beauty of
broadcasting...`` 0103 greeting Angela, ``you have a frog in your
throat -- at least it`s not me``, hee hee. Assessing the temperatures
in Florida. Most of the program is extolling AM Radio = which includes
shortwave. 0140 finally datestamp as 10th of January, YOOLF 2025,
simulcasting on 7490 & 5130. 0141 plays music Ian requested, a Bolero
in tribute to Jeff Beck, recently deceased guitarist. 0144 fiddling
around, 0146 playing some hard rock music for Angela, after trying to
get her to pick out something. 0155 wants to put Radio Caroline, now
on AM in England, on SW, but needs someone to underwrite it. 0158
quick look at some emails, past 0200, prayer, and after 0202 JIP Hal

** U S A. 590, Jan 15 at 0733 UT, `Newsradio KLBJ`` promos, no mention
of AM or FM frequency. NRC AM Log shows translator on 99.7. Is U2 5/1
kW. Night pattern with notch to the north from Austin, protecting
Omaha, which is normally dominant here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 880, Jan 12 at 0758 UT, open carrier/dead air atop some
Mexmx; 0800 finally alive with KRVN ID, Fox `news`. See also

** U S A. 900, Jan 9 immediately at 0746 UT tune-in, ID ``WKDA and
W252DU, Lebanon`` TN. NRC AM Log shows part of the time, WKDA is in
the group ``FM 98.9 Real Country``: WCOR 1490 Lebanon, WANT 98.9 and
mere translator W252DU 98.3, which in the Groups listing disincludes
WKDA. 900 listing shows another mere translator for it, W270DM, 101.9.
900 is U1 5000/136 watts. Radio-locator shows a previous callsign for
WKDA was WCOR. It also shows slogan ``Radio Luz`` which sounds
Spanish, but no hint of Spanish in NRC AM Log, rather split format of
C&W and NOS. WTFDA FM DB shows W252DU is a relay of WCOR 1490. Is that

** U S A. 900, Jan 12 at 0442 UT, ads with 903 area code including
hair stylist. The only fit in NRC AM Log is KPYN Atlanta TX U1 1000/33
but was Christian and silent as of 11/2023. When did it become

** U S A. 990, Jan 12 at 0806 UT, ``Mighty 9-90, K-Wam and 107.9``
after ads so not CBW; CBS News, mentions South Haven, but this is not
Kansas; per NRC AM Log, only 990 with this slogan and FM translator
match = W300DE, is KWAM Memphis TN, U4 10000/450. But not listed as
CBS affiliate, rather Fox. Southaven MS is a Memphis suburb right on
the border (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1020 kHz, Jan 15 at 0744 UT, ``100.1 FM and 1020, KDKA`` -
yes, 100.1 is a mere translator, but gets top billing at this heritage
AM station in Pittsburgh PA. Here, gets plently blockage by KOKP Perry
OK, where was it? and 50/50 kW KCKN Roswell NM, RVC in Spanish. But it
has a long-standing STA for ``U4 30000/50000, night pattern 24 hours
(expires 2025-06-28)`` per NRC DXtra. That doesn`t quite make sense,
but radio-locator shows night pattern major lobes to NW and S, pulled
in toward us and KDKA but not a deep notch. Daytime pattern quite

** U S A. 1200, Jan 12 at 0446 UT, 9-second loop over and over, ``This
is the Houston Texans Radio Network`` including ear-splitting tone for
5 seconds, still past 0451 when I can stand it no longer. OMG, *STILL
DOING THAT* at 0635 recheck. O, how the mighty have fallen! No one
minding the store at WOAI San Antonio, the nation`s premier Clear
Channel Station! Yes, that`s ``Texans``, not ``Texas``, a team name?
Yes, football. Eric Fetters-Walp in Washington and Walt Salmaniw in BC
could also perceive it thru QRM. STILL going at 0744, 0808 chex, and
Roger in Germany says still past 0915 UT. And:

signal into Birmingham, not unusual here. Oh it just stopped, Fox News
about plane crash at 1304. Dead air after end of Fox News at 1305. End

of S9+40, or is it JBM? Some steady talkshow clearly audible, but not
// 1390 KCRC as KZLS would be. Anti-immigrant subject, mentions
Franciscans, so Catholic? Fades a bit 0755, 0759 multi-station
Wisconsin IDs, and ``Relevant Radio`` - so it`s WSJP Sussex, HQ
address in Green Bay. Network attributes 1640, however, to Milwaukee

** U S A. 1640 kHz, Jan 11 at 0702 UT, Relevant Radio, under S9+42 of
still dead air from KZLS Enid, so it`s WSJP, Sussex WI again (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED [and non]. Jan 11 at 0712-0725 or so UT, I tune the
entire beacon band via 100-foot E/W longwire, and detect many JBA
carriers vs intolerable local line noise level which has abated only
slightly; and no storm noise now. Without the line noise I would have
many more definite logs. Results, reference dxinfocentre.com including
(best guesses) based on previous logs, proximity, power, otherwise
calls definitely logged:

UNIDENTIFIED. 880, UT Sun Jan 12 at 0440, Spanish talk dominates
especially on E/W loop with less CCI from KRVN to the north. Seems to
be religious, of which there are two in NRC AM Log: KKMC Gonzales CA,
U4 10000/10000; WRRZ Clinton NC, D1 1000; but bigsig more likely from
supposedly secular: WIJR Highland IL as previously heard, U4 1700/160;
WMDB Nashville TN U1 2500/2! watts; KJOZ Conroe TX U4 10000/1000. I
also wonder if KHAC Tse Bonito NM U1 10000/430 is ever Spanish besides
Navajo/English (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1280, Jan 11 at 0706 UT tuneby, immediate ID as ``1280
WBBN`` or so I thought. Looking up later, no such call nor anything
fuzzily similar. There is a WBBN-FM in Taylorsville MS on 95.9 but no
connexion to 1280. Desperate, I look for fuz/sims on 640 of which 1280
would be 2X: WMEN, Royal Palm Beach FL; WBIN Atlanta GA; CBN St.
John`s NL --- all extremely unlikely (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1440 kHz, Jan 12 at 0811 UT, ID sounds like KBUS or
KBUN, but no fits; the closest fuzzies would be my two closests: KPUR
Amarillo TX and KTUV Little Rock AR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7890, Jan 12 at 0418, JBA carrier: I would like to think
it`s an harmonic leak from 3945 VANUATU like in the good ole days,
altho rather too early for either to be active and propagating. Even
Klingenfuß 2022 has no ute on this exact frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 12145-12190, Jan 13 at 1525 huge wideband multi-tones,
peaking around 12180 at S9. This would be a big problem for WWCR, but
recheck 1611 after it`s on, the tones are gone (Glenn Hauser, OK,

UNIDENTIFIED. 13590, Jan 13 at 1520, weak carrier cutting off and on
rapidly, and maybe some modulation on it. It`s the OSOB
extracontinental besides 13820 & 13845. EiBi shows VOA Deewa Radio via
Lampertheim, GERMANY but also could be CNR1 jamming vs Sound of Hope
